Melancholy dreampop

Portland is the world of Jente Pironet. A musical prodigy with great storytelling power and an impressive vocal range.

He makes melancholy feeling music that fits strong emotions and important life moments. It contains British indie pop (see Elbow) and American folk (see Bon Iver), dark and light, acoustic guitars and electronics, joy and sorrow....

The debut album 'Your Colours Will Stain' (2019), which includes strong work such as 'Lucky clover', 'Expectations' and 'Killer's mind', is a free ride to Rock Werchter (BE), Pukkelpop (BE), Eurosonic (NL) and The Great Escape (GB).

Follow-up 'Departures' (2023) confirms Portland as yet another Belgian band with export quality. It's also in the genes. Portland is - also - an American port city. Symbol of a new departure, a next beginning ...

For fans of: Beach House, Marble Sounds, I Am Oak, Isbells

Support: Isaac Roux

Isaac Roux is Louis De Roo's singer-songwriter project, in which he mixes indie folk with dreamy electronica. 'White Rose' is one such song, heavenly indie folk that fans out wide toward the end, with a full sound, but not slick, just edgy enough, and the warm glow in De Roo's distinctive voice.

Think: Bon Iver, Ben Howard, Perfume Genius and My Morning Jacket or, closer to home, Novastar.
