Swiss pianist Sylvie Courvoisier has made a name for herself by straddling two different worlds: the deep, richly detailed chamber music of her European roots and the grooving, hook-laden avant-jazz sounds of New York, where she has lived for more than two decades.
With each concert and album, the modus operandi of her acclaimed trio becomes clearer. Transformative music that is not only varied and detailed, but also enveloping and free. After Free Hoops (2022) and the acclaimed D'Agala (2017), they present the music for a new album, recorded live during this tour.

The music Courvoisier writes is tightly organized and requires ensemble precision, as a few challenging unisonos demonstrate. At the same time, she also has dreamy qualities that can emerge at any moment.
She also uses ingredients that break the tension in fun ways - the joyful swinging, the coming together when they make complex material sing, and the flying apart when the players explore it on their own.
