For Naima Joris, melancholy is never far away. Even a happy song is inevitably imbued with the deep blues of her voice. Together with the balanced power and musical ingenuity of the Brussels Jazz Orchestra, the singer embarks on an atmospheric journey through the repertoire of Amália Rodrigues, Leonard Bernstein, Cesária Évora, Abbey Lincoln and Stromae, among others.

Although the project title Saudade is usually translated as an emotional mix of loss, lack and love, BJO and Naima Joris approach the concept with a vibrant musical energy.
