For thirty years, W.E.R.F. Records and JazzLab have been putting their backs into Belgian jazz. The one grew a catalog of more than 200 titles, the other took care of valued tours. This past festive year they joined forces. After a series of titillating projects, concerts and festival experiences, the festive exclamation mark now follows as a finale.
For this they brought together a dream lineup:
Toast to the successful continued support of both gem records and live music and come enjoy the present and future of Belgian jazz.
Since 2019, Kobe Boon's mòs ensemble has grown into an eight-piece band driven by a collectively borne vision, with a penchant for frontier areas where lush arrangements of voices and instruments can yield maximum returns.
Third album Pets & Therapy (W.E.R.F. REcords) is the sound of a band that continues to hone its sound and resolutely avoid formulas. Labels like pop, jazz and chamber music no longer matter. mòs ensemble became a band that effortlessly slaloms between eager energy and benevolent drama, between dreamy fragility and punkish power, between melancholy and euphoria.

Sometimes you want to know how a story evolves before it has properly begun. The Dutch Louise van den Heuvel is on an unstoppable rise - from laureate at Jong Jazztalent Gent with the genre-shattering Dishwasher_ to collaborating with artists ranging from Zwangere Guy and Lander Gyselinck to Bruno Vansina, Teun Verbruggen and Stéphane Galland.
For her own band, she selected musicians who are each currently leaving their mark within the Belgian jazz scene. Sonic Hug is a very personal project, for which memories led to new compositions. In her own words, Van den Heuvel longs for the High North and bands like ADHD, but the music is also full of irresistible grooves and melodies that constantly get under the skin. The sound of tomorrow, discoverable now. Together, they present Sonic Hug.

The trio Don Kapot is nothing less than a banging groove machine, known for its rousing concerts, infectious humor and colorful releases. With the energy and freedom of free jazz and performances in total trance, a collaboration with dancers was almost written in the stars.
After a chance meeting, "Dance Kapot" was born, now a dazzling spectacle with three dancers, led by Alexandros "Greco" Anastasiadis. After vibrant guerrilla performances in Brussels, that spontaneous celebration of color and music is now moving into theaters. A Small World, which previously set Jazz Brugge and BRAND! on fire, will once again be the explosive organ point!
