GINGERBLACKGINGER

Bassist Yannick Peeters is a household name in the Belgian jazz scene, best known as a strong voice in other people's projects. She is now launching her own music, with a sound as daring as it is authentic. To do this, she went in search of a more spiritual sound that could take on different forms and strong contrasts, with elements of jazz, rock, avant-garde and improvisation. Ruggedness, fragility, lyricism, originality and integrity all coexist.

The musicians she has invited are all personalities with a vision; creative, stubborn artists who won't settle for mediocrity. Frans Van Isacker and guitarist Frederik Leroux are among the most idiosyncratic representatives of Belgian jazz and improvisation. Master drummer Tom Rainey is a player who navigates between avant-garde notions and mainstream sensibilities. The band released their debut album GingerBlackGinger in January 2024 on the Belgian label W.E.R.F. Records.

Line-up: Yannick Peeters (double bass), Frederik Leroux (guitar), Frans Van Isacker (saxophone, clarinet), Samuel Ber replacing Tom Rainey (drums).

Stéphane Galland & The Rhythm Hunters

Stéphane Galland (AKA Moon) & The Rhythm Hunters integrate rhythmic principles from different parts of the world into a very personal language. Prepare your ears for polyphonic, groovy and trance-like rhythms from Africa, mathematically complex constructions from India and irregular pulses from the Balkans. Pure energy!

This band is a continuation of Stéphane's previous project (the mystery of) Kem. The goal: to explore different approaches to rhythm and integrate them into a fluid musical discourse. This process requires a lot of collective work so that the whole group of (young) musicians becomes familiar with new rhythmic concepts and challenges. The band's debut album was released in April 2024 on Challenge Records.

Line-up: Stéphane Galland (drums - Belgium), Shoko Igarashi (reeds - Japan), Sylvain Debaisieux (alto saxophone - Belgium), Pierre-Antoine Savoyat (trumpet - France), Wajdi Riahi (piano - Tunisia) and Louise van den Heuvel (electric bass - The Netherlands)
