On a fasıl evening, you traditionally enjoy delicious mezze and rakı, or Turkish snacks and Turkey's national anise drink.
During the Ottoman period, fasıl resounded in the palaces and fancier homes. Nowadays, this light classical music can mostly be heard in Istanbul's restaurants, because there is no such thing as fasıl without a mezze and rakı table.
