Attention, this performance takes place at KOPERGIETERY RABOT
On SUNDAY, KOPERGIETERY alternates with Ha Concerts by putting a musical artist on stage in a surprising way. With SOETE SUNDAY we also like to focus on families: (grand)parents and (grand)children enjoy a musical program with sweet treats.
This time we are giving stage to two talented musicians with musical roots scattered around the world.
Osama Abdulrasol, an Iraqi musician born into a strict religious family where playing music was forbidden. So he did it secretly in his head. Only when he fled Iraq did he take up (almost) all musical instruments, discovering his musical talent that has already taken him all over the world. Today Osama is a composer, musician (he plays the Eastern stringed instrument canoe) and visual artist.
Hilde De Clercq, a Belgian musician and performer in Turkish and Arabic music. She sings and plays darboeka, bendir, riq and piano, often collaborates with Turkish musicians and performs concerts in Europe and Turkey. She also teaches oriental percussion workshops and creates musical theater. Our house has known her for several years as an inspired teacher within the music theater workshops in KG Rabot (in collaboration with Ha Concerts).
Especially for SOUTH SUNDAY, Osama and Hilde together serve music that touched and inspired them in their childhood; from lullabies, nursery rhymes, over sing-alongs to party and dance music from all parts of the world. They take a musical journey from the Middle East to Belgium, stopping along the way in every country they encounter on their journey. Will you travel with them?
