Especially for the Made in China festival and Ha Concerts, musicians Wu Fei, Sarah Yu Zeebroek and Geoffrey Burton are working on a short concert for families. They start from Chinese children's songs and popular Chinese pop songs and try to transform them into something new and sparkling for young ears during their short residency.
After the concert, graphic artist Yingda will lead the children into the magical world of calligraphy in a workshop. Afterwards, they can feast on delicious Chinese dumplings!
Memory & Remembrances
Wu Fei, Sarah Yu Zeebroek, Geoffrey Burton (music)
Dong Yingda (visual artist - calligraphy)
Wu Fei has mastered the guzheng - a Chineses zither or harp - to perfection. This Chinese stringed instrument has been played for more than 2,000 years and thrilled many emperors of China.
Artist/musician Sarah Yu Zeebroek has Chinese roots. She has been playing guzheng in her own way for several years. With it, she tries to evoke and honor the spirits of her ancestors. Sarah sometimes sees ghosts, but so far she is not a danger to society.
