Norwegian jazz pianist and composer Tord Gustavsen continues to surprise with his poignant melodies, subtle grooves, and a musicality that embraces both simplicity and depth.
The latest album The Opening (2022) is a new dive into Scandinavian folk songs, gospel, chorales and jazz; a language the Norwegian pianist has developed over nearly two decades at ECM.

With Aki, drummer Anke Verslype models visual music full of inventive, subtle layers. Thereby, the unique combination of drums with harp, guitar and bass makes the ears prick up. In the company of reed player Joachim Badenhorst and Niels Van Heertum on euphonium. Sounds like cinematic landscapes, jazz and minimalism.
