Stef Kamil Carlens (dEUS, Zita Swoon) is finishing his 20th album 30 years after his debut. Expect everything from raw blues, playful theatricality, heartfelt melancholy to super-funky escapades.
As an artist, Stef Kamil Carlens is impossible to classify in 1 box. He is a singer, musician, composer, producer, theater maker, designer and visual artist. 1993 was the year he first appeared on the radar of press and public with the E.P.'s Zea by dEUS and Jintro Travels The Word In A Skirt by his own A Beatband (later Moondog Jr. and eventually Zita Swoon).
30 years later, he is finishing his 20th album in his own The Rabbit Field studio near Antwerp and has many hundreds of live shows on the counter at home and abroad. 2024 will be the year of brand new music, with an entire tour with a steamy live band. The first funky single 'Walk On Red, Stop On Green' will be released in mid-January.
Emma Hessels creates small songs in her bedroom in which she sings of such grand, universal feelings as love and loneliness. Her music is a search for identity and recognition. This searching aspect also translates into her sound, which is difficult to label with one genre.
Only her punishing, soulful voice is an indispensable constant throughout her modest oeuvre. Currently, that voice sounds mostly between two walls, but she hopes to soon expand her project with a band with which she can perform her music live.
