Orson Claeys: 'OTHELLO'

OTHELLO’s debut album

With OTHELLO, pianist and composer Orson Claeys presents his debut album on Sdban Ultra. Across twelve compositions, he weaves contemporary jazz with hip-hop, R&B and urban culture. Together with his quartet and guests such as IAMOMNI and Helena Casella, he delivers music that moves between groove, improvisation and beat-driven energy.

Following his EP Odyssey to Self and standout performances at Gent Jazz, Flagey and Ancienne Belgique, Claeys has established himself as a strong voice amongst the new generation of Belgian jazz musicians. The album explores themes of identity and personal development, with equal emphasis on meticulous composition and spontaneous interaction.
