Ha Concerts supports children and young people in their music development. To this end, we support music workshops and series such as this one.
Do you want to discover free music and improvisation in a playful atmosphere? Do you want to make new friends and play and create music together? Jazz Camp for Girls is a low-threshold summer workshop by Ha Concerts, Music Mosaic and Ledebirds for girls (ages 12-16) who play an instrument or would like to discover it.
It is a shared journey of discovery into our musical voices. Professional instructors (including Louise van den Heuvel, Anke Verslype & Hanne De Backer) will lead you into the world of free play, improvisation, jazz, creating and listening.
The concept of Jazz Camp for Girls blew over from Denmark (Jazz Denmark) where they have been introducing young girls to jazz and its instruments for ten years. The goal is to make the gender balance in the music industry more balanced.
With this camp we want to create an open and safe environment with female role models and make more girls feel like being on stage. The whole concept was co-designed from the beginning by a core group of young female musicians.
