The jazz piano trio of today

American pianist Vijay Iyer is rightly considered one of the most original and interesting jazz artists working today. With his trio, he presents "Compassion," Vijay Iyer's eighth album as a leader on the prestigious ECM label.

In addition to their own compositions, the three virtuosos pay homage to Stevie Wonder, Chick Corea and Roscoe Mitchell. "Cutting-edge music, but always accessible," according to The Guardian.

Their debut album (2021) was named "Jazz Album of the Year" by Downbeat, and the New York Times called them "the great new jazz piano trio. They continue to break new ground, the greats at work.
