Spiritual Afro-jazz featuring Mola Sylla and others

Interlinie is a compact concert tour focusing on the cross-pollination of Dutch and Belgian improvisation, experimental music and jazz. The aim is to foster a sense of camaraderie and to facilitate an exchange between the Dutch and Belgian scenes of free music adventurers.
From Belgium: Ola Tunji in collaboration with JazzLab

A Brussels-based saxophonist and her quartet come together in an inspired, boundary-pushing sound rooted in the spiritual jazz of John Coltrane. Ola Tunji plays with trance and intensity, using music as a gateway to connection and consciousness.

With their internationally acclaimed Untitled EP (2024) and their double victory (jury and audience awards) at Gent Jazz Talent 2025, the band has established itself as one of the most compelling voices of the moment. Their debut album is due for release in late 2026 on W.E.R.F. Records.

For fans of John Coltrane, Alice Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders, Albert Ayler

From Amsterdam: Mother Tongue

A Senegalese griot singer, a Dutch improviser and a Puerto Rican jazz drummer come together in one of the most compelling bands in Amsterdam today. Mother Tongue now captivates with a poetic, fiery blend of musical languages.

For fans of Babatunde Olatunji, Hamid Drake, William Parker, Nicole Mitchell

Mother Tongue
Mola Sylla (vocals, xalam, m’bira, kongoma, bolon bata), Oscar Jan Hoogland (electric clavichord), Frank Rosaly (percussion)

Interlinie 2026, organised with the primary aim of bringing together musicians and organisations from the improvisation scene, is made possible with the support of Space is the Place, BIMHUIS, Ha Concerts, POM, Sound in Motion, Rataplan, KAAP Brugge and Werkplaats Walter.
