Thumbscrew with Fujiwara, Formanek & Halvorson

Thumbscrew's three stars Tomas Fujiwara, Michael Formanek and Mary Halvorson unite established members of the New York new jazz scene. Their debut album is buzzing and crackling, burning and crooning.

The trio came about by chance, after Formanek joined cornet player Taylor Ho Bynum's band with Halvorson and Fujiwara. Their instant chemistry developed into a co-operation in the truest sense of the word. Each musician composes, resulting in a range of textures and strategies.
