Tashi Dorji

Tashi Dorji is a Bhutan-born, Asheville-based experimental guitarist whose highly intuitive improvisations have carved out a unique place for themselves in the contemporary avant-garde. His extensive discography includes deeply evocative solo works such as *Stateless* (2020) and *We Will Be Wherever the Fires Are Lit* (2024), and his forthcoming electric album *Low Clouds Hang, This Land Is on Fire* (2026) on Drag City.

Dorji is one half of Manas, the dynamic duo featuring drummer Thom Nguyen, and is one of the founders of the free jazz trio KUZU, alongside saxophonist Dave Rempis and drummer Tyler Damon. 

In both his solo and group projects, Dorji’s playing – rooted in alternative tunings, prepared guitar and spontaneous gestures – expresses an aesthetic of resistance, deep listening and collective transformation. 

Jonas Meersmans

Antwerp-based guitarist and composer Jonas Meersmans brings his own instrumental style to the acoustic guitar, hovering between cinematic and psychedelic fingerpicking. Following his album ‘Glassman’ (2024), which was presented at Gent Jazz and at De Roma, his fourth album is due to be released on Rotkat Records in April 2027.

Whilst the interaction with strings took centre stage on ‘Glassman’, on this new album he has opted for a more layered band sound featuring drums, brass and electric guitars.
