On Latent Info, Greek double bassist Petros Klampanis pays tribute to the unspoken. With an international trio formed in New York, he plays an intimate, poetic set full of nuances. Without words, but with a world of emotions.
For the recording of this album, the trio deliberately drew the organic map: together in one room, including all the breathing spaces and peripheral sounds. It is their metaphor for the small, almost overlooked situations that help shape life. Dialogues hanging in the air, feelings tempered by expectations, opinions drowned out by louder voices,....
The result is a subdued, layered set in which nothing is superfluous - every note, every silence, every sound tells a story. What is not said is at least as important as what is sounded.
