N∆BOU is back. The acclaimed quartet, led by trombonist Nabou Claerhout, is presenting new work created during a period of personal and musical change.
Following the releases of 'You Know' and 'Hubert', N∆BOU is moving in a new direction with a fresh line-up and a more intimate, layered sound. For the first time, Claerhout based her new compositions on personal experiences. The result is an album that sparkles with emotion, reflection, and, above all, transformation.
Don't expect a repeat performance, but a reinvention. A sound that moves, bends and grows. A live performance that is as surprising as it is disarming.

After years of collaborating with singer-songwriters, jazz musicians and improvisers, Marco Giongrandi is taking a new step: writing his own songs. In the project “When Birds Call in the Darkness”, he unfolds eight intimate compositions that evoke as many landscapes and stories. Birds, sea and mountains, but also an apartment, a cup of tea or an open door become characters in a poetic universe, where simplicity and introspection come together.
The music breathes fragments of Nick Drake, Julia Holter and Daniel Rossen. Giongrandi sings and plays with a warm, acoustic line-up — Hendrik Lasure, Casper Van De Velde and Soet Kempeneer — in which guitars, banjo, piano, synths, bass and drums play their own gentle roles. Live, Hendrik Lasure, Théo Lanau and Kobe Boon are dream companions. Think of fragile beauty, where the small and the large merge into one another.
