As a city of music, Ghent has a rich cultural landscape. To ensure this remains the case, this spring we are supporting Troika vzw in their mission to sharpen the ears of curious listeners with adventurous music. 

Adia Vanheerentals

Adia Vanheerentals likes to work as a saxophonist in different contexts. In recent years, she created the jazz/impro bands Bodem, Waarlijk and Vanheerentals/Beeckaert/Lasure. With Bodem she released their second album ‘Lush and Alive’ in February 2025, and she has release her second solo album ‘Taking Place’ in the November 2025. She also plays in Femke Gyselinck’s dance performance ‘Change Of Plans’, Corinne Heyrman’s theater performance ‘Jassen voor beginners’ and is active as a side-woman in bands such as Klinck Trio, Fire! Orchestra, Woolvs Large Esemble, Anaïs, etc.

Lennert Jacobs

Lennert Jacobs makes experimental yet melodic electronic music under the moniker L. Jacobs. His debut album, Enthusiasm, was released in 2021 via Les Albums Claus x W.E.R.F. Records. His new album, Behind The Great Curve, produced by Milan W., was released in April 2026 on the Belgian blickwinkel label. Alongside his solo work, Jacobs is a member of the idiosyncratic band The Germans, the experimental jazz group MDC III, and the improvisation collective cUNST, and has previously played with Public

Thijs Troch

Thijs Troch is a Belgian improvising piano player. He is active in bands such as Kabas, Keenroh, Jukwaa, The Bony King Of Nowhere, … In addition, he has already released several solo albums that, besides the piano, also feature synthesizers, acoustic and electric guitars, harmonium, church organ and banjos.
