This concert takes place in the entrance hall of the S.M.A.K. - Jan Hoetplein 1, 9000 Ghent
Every first Thursday of the month, Ha Concerts and S.M.A.K. join forces for the “Late Thursday” series. The museum stays open until 10 p.m., with a free acoustic concert in the entrance hall. Contemporary art and stimulating music come together in an intimate but unique atmosphere.
The Barbastelle ensemble, led by bassist Jordi Cassagne, explores a tranquil yet vibrant world in Vestige Étésien. Strings, woodwinds, and impressionistic percussion blend chamber music, jazz, and free improvisation into a fragile yet powerful whole. It evokes a cinematic hidden world, beneath flowing water, as an ode to transformation and change.
