Under the name of Triveni, accordionist and composer Barbara Eva Ardenois plays dreamy folk music in which Nordic serenity, echoes of traditional melodies and her lyrical way of playing merge into an intimate and poetic whole.
Between 2021 and 2023 she travelled through Scandinavia and Finland, immersing herself in Swedish shepherd's music and the Karelian song tradition, and graduated as a Nordic Master in Folk Music. She weaves these influences with her classical background into a personal and quiet soundscape. The result is that Ardenois has been nominated for the Flanders Folk Award '25 in the Horizon category, for artists who the jury believes will have a lasting influence on the genre.
She presents her debut with two guest musicians from the far north: Swedish violinist and singer Ingrid Rodebjer and Finnish string player Hanna Ryynänen. Tender, restrained and convincing.
