Unique journey with music and words

In 2017, musician Mattias De Craene and writer Peter Verhelst crossed paths at a (damn) poetry night. A conversation ensued that continues to this day: about cinematic music, about words merging into sound, about music and language forming a space together. Commissioned by the Bruges festival AMOK, the spark from which the fire of this evening will arise was born.

Is Zinay! a movie without pictures? Poetry without a book, but with music? Is it music at all? A performance? A way to evoke fear? Of death? To celebrate life? An exercise in breathing-in sound, in word? A ritual?

Zinay! wants to be all that at once.
