Ten years after his death and fifteen years after his memorable concerts on Sint-Pietersplein in Ghent, this deluxe edition of Re:Context pays tribute to the life and work of Leonard Cohen. How might we listen to his iconic songs today? What gems lie hidden within his poetic lyrics?
The answers are within reach during this special evening, featuring a tribute by Lara Chedraoui, insightful conversations with international experts and his close associates, and a documentary film looking back at Cohen’s early years as a poet, stand-up comedian and provocateur.

The Ghent University lecturer in French literature and translation, Francis Mus, has written an internationally acclaimed monograhy of Cohen and is the driving force behind the 2026 International Cohen Conference, of which this Re:Context series forms part.
In this collaboration, we present three conversations with leading Cohen experts, followed by the Canadian documentary Ladies and Gentlemen... Mr. Leonard Cohen (1965) – which offers a glimpse into his years as a young rebel, poet and writer, before his debut as a songwriter and his rise to international fame.
