“One of the most beautiful acts of art, journalism and life that I’ve ever seen.” Shirish Kulkarni
In this collaboration between Ha Concerts and NTGent, Nothing Bigger Than Humanity invites you to feel what it means to be human in today’s world. In this intergenerational gathering, we revisit recent world history, told by millennials who witnessed it first hand as children. An absurd war, an industrial tragedy, a mobilisation of musicians and an all-encompassing social experiment.
By joining the gathering, you too become a witness to these stories. After each scene, you are invited to share your thoughts. Your reactions are the deciding factor in how each event unfolds. No performance will ever be the same.
All voices combined form one big testimony of global power dynamics. Forces that disrupt even the most sincere bonds between humans, leaving people torn between deep love and great fear. During Nothing Bigger Than Humanity, we break free from that impossible state of being by relating once again to the humanity we all share.

The performance is carried by continuous live music and conversations, hosted by Sarah Jeffery (recorders & voice), Yung Tuan Ku (vibraphone & percussion) and Andrea Voets (harp & electronics).
Artist Andrea Voets uses music to let global news hit so hard, that it evokes resonances in her audiences. Her musical journalism holds important lessons on trust, the de-automatisation of thought-patterns, and ‘real’ contact. How can you talk about pain in times of #sharing? The Correspondent
