MONKEYBIZ is a contemporary reinterpretation of Wu Ch’êng-ên's 16th-century Chinese classic Journey to the West. At its heart is the mischievous Monkey King, born from a stone egg – a clever, playful hero who overcomes every obstacle with his flying cloud and magic wand.
With their own universe of music and imagery, Fossick Project weaves this ancient story into a poetic shadow play between dream and reality.
On stage, hand-drawn illustrations and carefully crafted materials come to life on an old-fashioned overhead projector, synchronised with live music and accompanied by humour, magic and imagination.
Without words but full of expression, transcending boundaries and languages, they take you on a sensuous journey.
