Fragile indie pop - new album

The Isbells' acoustic folk sound has been compared to Nick Drake, Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver. On their sixth album, "and the noise settles," they pull out all the stops. From fragile voices and acoustic guitars to balanced horns, delicate percussion and an electronic veil. It gets under your skin and doesn't let go.

For the first time in his career, Gaëtan Vandewoude left the production to someone else: band member and good friend Chantal Acda. This fresh dynamic resulted in a spontaneous, warm and adventurous album where intuition and interplay are central. Catbug is the alter ego of singer-songwriter Paulien Rondou, who grew up on a farm in Westmalle. Following her debut album 'Universe' (2018) and the intimate 'Slapen onder een hunebed' (Sleeping under a dolmen) (2021), she is now working on a third album, once again inspired by nature and its winged inhabitants.

Her Dutch-language songs balance between small and vulnerable, dreamy and profound. With her new single 'Torenvalkje', Catbug sets the tone: disarming and clear.
