Music never arises in a vacuum. Behind every concert lie stories, ideas, social movements and personal histories that enrich our listening experience. With the second season of Re:Context, Ha Concerts once again invites you to look and listen beyond the music itself.

As always, we’re in good company: our partner, Paard Van Troje bookshop, will be providing a rich selection of related music books on these evenings.

Line-up

This year, the series takes on various forms. We open with a special deluxe edition exploring the legacy of Leonard Cohen, in collaboration with Ghent University.

An evening of talks, a live tribute by Lara Chedraoui and a documentary film will offer new perspectives on Cohen’s life, work and enduring significance.

In addition, Re:Context will be taking centre stage at the concert evenings themselves, with exclusive artist talks ahead of two iconic concerts.

Funk pioneer Fred Wesley (a living legend from James Brown’s band) shares insights from a career that helped shape the history of funk and jazz, whilst the iconic singer Pauline Black looks back on the 2-Tone movement, her musical journey and the enduring social relevance of ska.

With Re:Context, we create a space for deeper exploration, connection and conversation. Because sometimes music speaks even louder when you get to know the story behind it.
