Zita Swoon Group / Flying Horseman

Record Store Day takes place on Saturday, April 16, 2011. It is the day for record stores, music lovers and artists to celebrate the art of music, the beauty of vinyl and the charm of the record store. Now a scarce commodity, an independent record store is a unique world of expertise, an eye for detail and friendly service.

ZITA SWOON GROUP

In honor of Record Store Day and their LP release, Zita Swoon Group presents 'the music of the danced concert' on a one-off basis.

After more than 15 years of existence as Zita Swoon, the group revolves around Stef Kamil Carlens in a new direction in 2009: from now on specific creations will be made. This is how Dancing with the Sound Hobbyist was born, a collaboration with dancer Simon Mayer and choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker of the Rosas company.

On April 16, Zita Swoon Group will present the musical part of this creation. After Sunrise (Murnau), Zita Swoon presents another instrumental concert!

Stef Kamil Carlens (organ, guitar, vocals), Aarich Jespers (percussion), Kapinga Gysel (vocals, xylophone, percussion), Bart Van Lierde (electric bass, double bass), Wim Debusser (grand piano, keyboard), Amel Serra García (percussion), Eva Tshiela Gysel (vocals, xylophone, percussion) and guest musicians Hugo Boogaerts (saxophone, flute), Jeroen Baert (violin) and Yumika Lecluyze (violin).

FLYING HORSEMAN< /p>

Flying Horseman is an Antwerp band around the charismatic Bert Dockx, and a growing sensation. A unique mix of experimental rock, droney post-folk and deep, dark blues, with a strong live reputation. The band confidently rose through the Flemish media and stages (including Dranouter, OLT Rivierenhof, 4AD) to a respected place. 'The discovery of the year' according to Ayco Duyster (StuBru, 2010).

The vinyls of both bands are exclusively for sale on this day. On Record Store Day, Music Mania is releasing the vinyl of the instrumental music of 'Dancing with the Sound Hobbyist' by Zita Swoon Group (collaboration with Rosas).
