The story of Zap Mama in world music is one of epic proportions. For more than fifteen years, Zap Mama has been at the crossroads of the mystical African continent and the complex Western world. Singer Marie Daulne was born in Congo as the daughter of a Belgian father and a Congolese mother. She is a brilliant songwriter and musician. She distills creative energy from an endless range of sources and radiates it back to the world with unsurpassed craftsmanship. Rhythm and beauty, myth and melody, history and harmony become one in the music of Zap Mama.

The new album, Supermoon, is probably the most emotionally honest and intimate album in her discography, which spans fifteen years and six albums.
