In 1992, 16 Horsepower was founded and quickly conquered a very large and solid fan base. Frontman David Eugene was the beating heart of the group. After the split of 16 Horsepower, he needed a new artistic outlet. And so the debut of “Woven Hand” was released in 2001. It received excellent reviews. Woven Hand received an extra boost when Wim Vandekeybus' renowned Belgian dance theater, Ultima Vez, asked David to write the music for their upcoming project. This score appeared under the title “Blush”.
Woven Hand bears the unmistakable stamp of 16 Horsepower, but there are also influences from Nick Cave and Tom Waits. The music is dominated by the compelling and penetrating gothic voice of David Eugene. Woven Hand sucks the audience into a maelstrom of dark mysteries, sinister seduction and an intense, almost spiritual sound...
