Wasdaman
With Wasdaman Ostend jazz pianist Bas Bulteel shows a completely different side. He gathered several band members (Compro Oro, Skordatura, Altertape) for a sound between progressive rock, contemporary jazz and electronics. Their sound is energetic, rhythmic and with clear nods to the work of, among others Zappa, King Crimson and the electric period of Miles Davis.
Programmtor Wim Wabbes about the band
"Wasdaman, the band of keyboardist Bas Bulteel, released its first album on the WERF label at the end of last year and was going to tour with it in the spring, but... and are doing it now.It is a group that has remained under the radar for a long time, while the music has everything to go through the roof. A kind of Weather Report Zappa-esque take on jazz.
If you step away from the music for a moment, the complexity and virtuosity will amaze you. But the result is a wave of energy and musicality without equal. They bring a contemporary mix with a unique sound. Perfect to get away from corona."
