Van Dyke Parks & Clare and the Reasons

A year and a half after the legendary songwriter Van Dyke Parks was first introduced to our country at the Handelsbeurs, he is back. In November 2008 we read in Humo: “If a bomb explodes in the Ghent Trade Fair on Saturday, the Belgian musicianship will be decimated. That evening the ultimate musicians' musician will be our guest: Van Dyke Parks (65). His oeuvre is as idiosyncratic as it is modest: barely five song albums in forty years, on which he covers almost all genres between calypso and classical - for neophytes, 'Tokyo Rose' is the perfect introduction." He wrote songs for The Beach Boys and Brian Wilson and worked as a producer on records by Ry Cooder, Randy Newman, U2, Ringo Starr, Little Feat. /strong>andKeith Moon. He can also be heard on the album 'The Movie' by Clare And The Reasons, who will travel to Ghent for the occasion. Their beautiful second album is on the shelves with 'Arrow'.
