Solace after tragedy

Presenting your debut single on a prime-time TV show, accompanied live by a 47-piece orchestra: it's a rare achievement. But so is the story of Tim Beernaert—alias TP Le Green.

In the summer of 2021, Tim Beernaert is confronted with the unthinkable: the tragic loss of his four-year-old son Rinus. A void that cannot be filled, a pain that cannot be comprehended. From that heartbreaking grief springs a stream of music. Night after night, Tim writes more than a hundred songs, often half-conscious, piano and pen at the ready. Initially, it is only for himself, as a source of comfort, a way to come to terms with his loss, a way to keep going.

What began as personal therapy grows into music that touches everyone. Friends, musicians, even international artists such as Jonathan Jeremiah, Baloji, and members of The Kooks feel the emotion in his work. Joost Zweegers (Novastar) promptly offers Tim his services. This is how TP Le Green comes into being — a name full of meaning: T for Tim, P for Pini, Rinus' nickname, and Green as a tribute to his son and to soul legend Al Green.

On March 6, 2026, his debut album “The Extraordinary Story Of...” is released. For this album, he collaborated with top musicians Joost Zweegers, Bruno Fevery, Nicolas Thys, and Keith Prior. The recordings took place at the iconic La Frette studio in Paris, where Nick Cave also recorded his intensely personal “Skeleton Tree.”

The result is an album about loss, love, and perseverance. The first single, “Amen,” a duet with Sarah Green (Portland), is a heartbreaking song about hope that also offers comfort.

This is a production by Greenhouse Talent.
