Thomas Dybdahl

THAT GREAT OCTOBER SOUND, 10TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the release of his groundbreaking debut album That Great October Sound, Norwegian Thomas Dybdahl will perform these songs in a completely stripped-down, acoustic version. This naturally includes intimate theaters and clubs all over Europe, and the Handelsbeurs in Ghent is one of the lucky ones. He will play his debut album, containing classics such as 'From Grace' and 'Adelaide', until the very last note. In addition, all ticket buyers can buy signed copies of That Great October Sound this evening at a fantastic discount price!

The 32-year-old Grammy Award winning Thomas Dybdahl is one of the most talented singer-songwriters that the Norwegian music scene has produced in recent years. He started as a guitarist with Quadrophonics and has been touring with his own band That Great October Sound since 2002. He may be a big star in his home country, but he still has to try to conquer the rest of the world. Now, 10 years after the release of his debut album That Great October Sound, and 4 albums later, he is ready. With his irresistibly intimate and serene sound and rock-solid guitar playing, that can't be a problem. He brings a cross between folk, pop, country and a touch of jazz.

The charismatic performer who draws from a broad spectrum of styles and influences can count on a melancholic and romantic tenor and falsetto voice that alternates between think of Damien Rice, Jeff Buckley and Antony Hegarty. In 2011 he released the compilation album Songs: a clever anthology with highlights from the previous 5 paten. Subba Cultcha gave that album 10/10!

Perfectly crafted singer/songwriter faire that spellbinds for its duration and soon comfies itself into your collection like a long loved classic... PERFECT.

His work may not be bite-sized, but if you take your time, you will find 'Songs' a delicacy. DaMusic

SUPPORT: DOUGLAS FIRS

Douglas Firs' warm songs are inspired by the bigger names of American singer-songwriter history. With his preference for the pop melodies of The Beatles and the country blues of North Mississippi Allstars, the young Gertjan Van Hellemont swings stubbornly between both genres.

Debut album and single will be released soon!
