The Stranglers

With 42 top 40 hits in four decades, The Stranglers have more than enough material to fill an impressive 'best of'. The ultimate collection of Stranglers songs, 'FORTYTWOFORTY', is on the shelves. The story of The Stranglers started in 1974 with a solid rock sound. But it wasn't until they added a good dose of punk that their career gained momentum. In 1977 they played almost every English venue and broke through internationally with the album Rattus Norvegicus. This was followed by one hit after another: Peaches, No More Heroes, 5 Minutes, Duchess, Something Better Change, Always The Sun and the classic Golden Brown, a song in the exotic 13/8 time signature that is about heroin use. The Stranglers put their name on the list of rock gods with the necessary punk violence. On their Greatest Hits Worldwide Tour they also stop at the Handelsbeurs.

Arquettes bring pop/rock with a lot of attention to harmony vocals, interwoven with ingenious synth lines. At the end of 2005 they came into the spotlight with a 3rd place at De Beloften and the final of Het Kampioenschap van Brussel. This was followed by two separate singles It's a relief and Feehler on Studio Brussels. At the end of 2007 they released a mini album for which they collaborated with producer Pascal Deweze. The Arquettes foursome is currently working on new songs for their debut album, scheduled for the fall of 2009.
