Kalkadunga Man' shows Australian night and day through the eyes of didgeridoo player William Barton. Barton is a young artist from Mount Isa who has taken his instrument to the world's biggest stages. When he went in search of his own roots among the Australian Kalkadunga people a few years ago, he was accompanied by renowned photographer Allan Chawner. This became the starting point of the 'Kalkadunga Man' project. Under the direction of the Flemish Roland Peelman, the world-renowned vocal ensemble The Song Company, together with William Barton, among others, produces work that is among the most evocative, penetrating and moving music ever written in Australia. The deep-seated sounds of the didgeridoo give the music an almost hypnotic character. Chawner's powerful images of the Kalkandunga country are projected throughout the performance. Kalkadunga Man is an immersive auditory and visual experience.
