In almost 20 years, The Charlatans have continuously worked their way up to become a driving force in the British music scene. After forming in 1989, they tasted success almost immediately when their second single The Only One I Know became a hit. Today, The Charlatans are like godfathers to a whole new generation of bands, including The Klaxons and producer Mark Ronson, who reworked 'The Only One I Know' (sung by Robbie Williams) for his 'Version' album. The new Charlatan record You Cross My Path is in record stores, after it was first available for free download on XFM and their own website. On 'You Cross My Path' we hear the most euphoric and the cloudiest Charlatans ever. They keep renewing themselves. You get one chance to see them at work in our country: September 19 in the Handelsbeurs. Don't miss them!
SUPPORT: STARFUCKER
The story of the indie rockers Starfucker began in 2005. After two years of playing, Marlies (vocals, guitar), Stefanie (drums), Matti (lead guitar) and Stijn (bass) already had 200 concerts to their name. Stefanie was just 15. In 2007, Luc Janssen (Stubru) organized the Labo De Lux competition together with Canvas. Out of 3,000 entries, Starfucker won first prize and the audience prize. Their first single 'Boys Will Be Boys' was on the Studio Brussels playlist for weeks and in the same year they played at Pukkelpop. A full album was inevitable. The recordings - under the wings of Huub Rijnders (Krezip) and Ronald Prent (HIM, Rammstein, Guano Apes) - are in full swing. A new single will be released at the end of October!
