The Black Keys

The duo of The Black Keys bumped into each other in a studio in Akron, their hometown in the US. Dan Auerbach grew up with a love for electric blues. He taught himself to play the guitar with Junior Kimbrough as a great example. On stage he seems to wring his soul out in his songs until the last breath. The somewhat wooden Patrick Carney spent his youth with noise rock and hip hop. He attacks his drums as if they had just run away with his love. An explosive combination that works surprisingly well. The band gives the blues a good kick, scratches off the veneer and makes it sound intensely raw and yearning. This heavy blues rock is reminiscent of groups such as The White Stripes, The Black-Eyed Snakes, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and My Morning Jacket. Tailor-made for blues lovers and rock fans.
