Spinvis

2002 was, to say the least, an absolute top year for Spinvis, aka Erik De Jong. He stunned both the Dutch and Belgian press with his tranquil, beautiful songs. His visit to the Handelsbeurs two years ago did not go unnoticed. (If only because the initial date was postponed because his tour van was involved in an accident.) Spinvis will soon release a new album and one of the places where he will present it is of course the Handelsbeurs. They have already had a few try-outs in the Netherlands and the comments speak for themselves: “The new work fits seamlessly thematically. The intimate songs again have the elusive melancholy that we have come to expect from Spinvis. The unmistakable humor is essential, which is never overt, but always under your breath.”

The Leuven band Grim provides the support act. Take Your Seat, their 2004 debut, proved that Belgian post-rock can also be heard.
