The Californian slowcore group Spain made the beautiful album The Blue Moods of Spain in 1995, on which the band around Josh Haden (son of jazz celebrity Charlie Haden) developed his own style to perfection. From then on, Spain became known for its slow, moody, passionate and enchantingly melodic music. Critics invented the name slowcore (see also contemporaries Tortoise and Lambchop).

The audience saw that it was good and fell en masse for the heart-touching love lyrics.Johnny Cash, father Haden and Soulsavers covered songs from Spain; tracks featured in 'Six Feet Under' and in the Wim Wenders film 'End of Violence'. And suddenly there was the temporary split in 2002. It wasn't until 2007 that Haden returned. And now there is finally the new album The Soul Of Spain, made according to a proven recipe: languid songs and Haden's beautiful, smoky voice. An instant classic.

FLOAT FALL

Float Fall finished third on Humo's Rock Rally in March, but is seen by many as the only real winner. The group brings wonderful dream music reminiscent of The XX and Destoyer.
