Jim Byrnes was born in the blues country of Missouri. In his hometown, Ike and Tina Turner were the house band at the local bar. At the age of five he started playing the piano and at the age of thirteen he mastered the blues guitar. In the following years he worked alongside an impressive list of prominent blues figures: from Furry Lewis and Henry Townsend to Muddy Waters, < strong>John Lee Hooker, Albert Collins and Taj Mahal. As an actor, Jim Byrnes can often be seen in various TV roles. But his first love remains blues. With his coarse, smoky voice, Byrnes effortlessly conquers every listener, add his great soul band The Sojourners and you have a golden combination.
