Belgian soprano Sophie Karthäuser and German baritone Stephan Loges met at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where they were taught by pianist Eugène Asti. Karthäuser and Loges met again in the prestigious Wigmore Hall Song Competition: he won the competition, she won the audience award. De Munt later brought the duo together in Mozart's The Magic Flute. Eugène Asti had the brilliant idea to unite them again in 2007 for a complete recording of Mozart's songs. A trio had stood up.
