Stanley Clarke is the godfather of the bass. He single-handedly started a revolution in the field of application of the bass guitar. Clarke taught the world that the instrument should not necessarily be relegated to the background, but can also be used as a melodic pioneer.

Marcus Millermade his debut at the age of sixteen and started working with Miles Davis shortly afterwards. He soon produced hit records for Chaka Khan, Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin, Wayne Short and Al Jarreau, among others. And in the meantime he played immortal bass parts on albums by Donald Fagen, the Brecker Brothers, Grover Washington, Paul Simon and many others. Miller is the only solo bassist to ever win a Grammy for 'Best Contemporary Jazz Album'.

Victor Wooten started 20 years ago with the innovative band, the Flecktones, which soon won three Grammys. He also started his solo career with a debut album – A Show of Hands – that rocked the bass world.
