Silje Nergaard, a Norwegian singer who has a highly original name and is also bursting with talent. They must have thought so in Japan, because the crazy people, very impressed by her angelic voice, even named a kind of wine after her! We don't think of it as crazy in Europe, but that doesn't mean we don't love Nergaard's fresh mix of pop and melodic jazz. Her career has taken off since the late 1980s, when she met renowned guitarist Pat Metheny and producer Richard Niles, who insisted on making a record with her. In the past fifteen years she has made almost ten and performed at various festivals, including the North Sea Jazz Festival. Tonight she will present her new compilation album.
