Sharon Van Etten

SHARON VAN ETTEN

The indie folk queen from Brooklyn has surpassed her third, very well-received album Tramp: her number four Are We There was released late May on the Jagjaguwar label. There is no escaping it: Pitchfork gives it an 8.2 rating, Pretty Much Amazing 10, Uncut 9, NME 8, and the list goes on. Self produced, painfully intimate and full of self-confidence.

A live performance is also a delight for the (amazed) eye* and ear: Primavera Sound (Barcelona) was a success, and at the end of May Sharon Van Etten won the crowd over in a sold out Botanique, with a concert “on the verge of breakthrough” according to De Morgen newspaper.

For fans of Phosphorescent, The National, Cat Power, The War On drugs. Amanda Petrusich conducted an emotionally intense interview for Pitchfork .
