Intimate concerts in an imaginary garden

Dive into the summer together with the Handelsbeurs with a series of intimate concerts. For the occasion, the concert hall transforms into a green oasis, complete with plant jungle, softly singing birds and subdued light. Welcome to the Secret Garden of Ghent.

Zero Years Kid

Clarinet player Joachim Badenhorst spent the last four months in Japan with his wife and baby. When they flew to Tokyo for some concerts in early March, the corona pandemic struck upon arrival. They could no longer get a return flight home.

He made a lo-fi album on the spot called Kyoto. It is a kind of audio diary with field recordings interspersed with songs where he sings about the double feeling of not being able to go home, but at the same time to stay in a dream-like beautiful city. There are no clarinets on the latter album, which may be surprising.
