Aafke Romeijn

Aafke Romeijn seamlessly transitions danceable electro into spoken word and whispering songs. Her latest album M is also the soundtrack to her debut novel Concept M.

It provides a wonderful landscape with samples of obscure soul and jazz records as well as of modernist poets and Sonic Youth. They effortlessly merge with greatest arrangements in a record that floats between beats and strings. With this, Romeijn goes after the Dutch-language electropop by Roosbeef and Eefje de Visser.
