Sean Lennon

Sean Lennon

As the son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon was already world famous at birth. He has his name with him, he made his musical career all by himself. In 1991 he contributed to Lenny Kravitz's album “Mama Said”. He was part of his mother's backing band, 'IMA' and became bassist for Cibo Matto. In 1998, Sean Lennon released his debut album “Into the Sun” on the Beastie Boys' label, Grand Royal. He consciously chose not to follow his father's pop music path. It became a jazzy, eclectic album that floats somewhere between bossa nova and alternative rock. Only recently, on October 2, 2006, was Lennon's second CD released. “Friendly Fire” is an alternative rock record. A wonderful sound, catchy piano accents and a beautifully soft voice that betrays the family bond. It is very accessible, experimental and alternative music that grabs you and doesn't let go.

Support: Tom Helsen

At the age of nineteen, Tom achieved Helsen silver in Humo's Rock Rally (1996). Through some of his own songs and a catchy cover of Hotellounge by dEUS, Tom Helsen ended up in second place behind Novastar (but ahead of An Pierlé and Arid). The jury report was: "Tom Helsen is a solo man who brings catchy songs and knows that a good song should not be covered up with unnecessary picking on the guitars."
