Score Man

Score Man is a new large orchestra that exhibits with sound. Sometimes in battle, sometimes with a nod to the nostalgic big band tradition. As a composer and arranger, Thomas De Prins puts his background and preference for extremely refined orchestral film music, tough garage rock and blues on paper. Score Man, both composer and orchestra, form a 20-piece giant with one foot in the 'roots', the other in the 'avant-garde'...

Musicians from many strong formations such as, < strong>El Tattoo del Tigre, Think of One, Internationals, Dez Mona, Brazzaville, Whodadsand Seatsniffers, play together for the first time in a very cross-border authentic combination. Classical music, swing, trash rock, exotica in a tight but also expressionistic arrangement.

From the tradition of Ellington, Nino Rota, Prokofjiev, Stooges, Score Man searches for the ultimate but also unsophisticated instrumental soundtrack to flashes from contemporary, sometimes toxic, urban life... An ode to the greats, but also an impulsive and dangerous musical experiment without a comfortable safety net.

Together with two drummers, two guitarists, flutes, brass, horns, double bass, Thomas De Prins duels as Score Man at the keys with the 'Less is More' dogma of the last 20 years. From the black and white frame of the score, a colorful new semi-electric 'Urban' sound bursts forth!
