Everyone has their own rhythm. But what happens when they intersect? In Re:Beat, a flamenco dancer and a stepper bring their bodies together as percussive instruments. Their feet build layered rhythms, fuelled by live electronics that both support and challenge them. Here, dance becomes a physical score in which timing, repetition and contrast take centre stage.
Choreographer Karolien Verlinden returns, following FeL and Framed, with a new rhythmic project in which different dance styles meet. Re:Beat is not a closed-off stage experience: the audience is actively involved and invited to feel, follow and share the rhythm. This creates a sensory performance about individuality, collaboration and empathy.
